Custom-Made Awnings
Hours:
For All Awnings
New fabric awnings need alternate exposure to rain and hot sun on them several times before they fit properly. We refer to this process as "Weathering In".
Although never really waterproof, this weathering process also causes the needle holes in the seams to swell over time to provide better water resistance.
To clean your awnings, we recommend you lightly rinse your awnings off with a fine spray garden hose to wash away any airborne dust. Never powerwash awnings.
Tree sap and leaves are big enemies of awnings. We recommend pruning all overhanging trees back to prevent the accumulation of tree sap and leaves, which may stain your awnings.
Window, Porch, and Door Awnings
Our window, porch, and door awnings are all custom-made from raw materials. They do not come off the shelf or out of a box. These awnings are sometimes referred to as "Loose Frame" awnings because their frames are not rigid and may be roped to fold up against your home.
Window, porch, and door awnings should never be exposed to heavy winds or winter weather and should be taken down and stored indoors for the winter.
Store in a dry place and away from areas that are prone to mice and squirrels. Can provide this service or will be pleased to show you how it's done.
Deck and Patio Awnings
The deck and patio awnings provided by Woonsocket Awning Co., Ltd are all custom-made from raw materials. They do not come off the shelf or out of a box. Deck and patio awnings are sometimes referred to as "Fix Frame" awnings because their frames are rigid, stay up all year round, and do not fold. Deck and patio awnings aren't designed to accept any heavy snow loads.
Therefore, awnings should be removed from their frames and stored in a dry place and away from areas prone to mice and squirrels for the winter months.
Call us today for this service, and we'll be pleased to show you how it's done. Never leave items that can be susceptible to moisture damage, such as televisions, under your awnings in rainy conditions. As indicated above, awnings are water-resistant, not waterproof.
